Cold plasma treatment using a 13.56 MHz large area hollow cathode device is capable of killing Aermonas bacteria and Bacteriophage virus. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) studies showed that existence of ‘OH’ radical facilitates this process.
Taap Darshak is an infrared based non-contact temperature measuring instrument which is calibrated to measure human skin temperature in the range of 90°F to 110°F. It is an automatic instrument which does not require human intervention for measurement. It has been deployed at various location in BARC and Anushaktinagar as per COVID-19 guidelines for thermal screening of visitors entering a premises. Its Technology is available for transfer.
A triple torch air plasma gasifier consisting of a feeder unit, plasma torches, primary chamber, secondary chamber, scrubber, power supply, control units, blower and emission stack has been fabricated, installed and commissioned at the PRIPShed site of L&PTD, BARC for safe and environment friendly mitigation of non-explosive non-biodegradable solid wastes including chlorinated plastic using high temperature air plasma. The unit is designed to mitigate the mentioned type of solid wastes at a rate of 1 ton per day avoiding environmental release of highly carcinogenic dioxin and furan and very harmful SOx and NOx and other pollutants like fine carbon particulates and poisonous carbon monoxide.

Laser Vibrometer works on the principle of Optical triangulation technique. It has vibration amplitude measurement range of 5 μm to 5 mm and frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 1 kHz. Its technology has been transferred to private industry in Nov. 2016 and is still available for transfer.
Laser Screen Projectile Velocimeter is a projectile velocity measuring instrument based on time of flight principle using diode laser generated light sheets. It has measurement range of 0.1 m/s to 5000 m/s with an accuracy of 2% of measured value. Its technology has been transferred to private industry in Aug. 2015 and available for transfer.
Lascan Dia-Gauge is a diode laser based non-contact diameter measuring instrument. It uses shadow pulse width measurement technique and has measurement range of 1 to 25 mm with an accuracy of ±5 μm. Its technology has been transferred to private industry.
