The USB powered Tele ECG machine is portable 12-lead ECG device suitable for real-time cardiac monitoring. It records surface potentials associated with the electrical activity of heart, from all the leads simultaneously. A USB cable connects the device seamlessly to either a mobile phone via OTG (On-The-Go) technology or to a PC/laptop. An application software captures the ECG signals and generates the ECG report in pdf format, enabling easy sharing via WhatsApp, email, or other file-sharing applications.
Being USB powered, the device does not need an on-board battery and associated charging circuitry, thereby reducing the Bill of Materials (BOM) cost and simplifying maintenance, as compared to a Bluetooth based Tele ECG machine. In compliance with the medical device standard IEC 60601-1, the ECG device incorporates ground isolation between its internal circuitry and the external/USB ground, to provide patient safety and interference free operation when the device is connected to the mains-powered PC or laptop.

The USB powered Tele ECG machine has been developed, evaluated for its functional requirements using simulator and found to meet the desired specifications. The application software acquires ECG data from the Tele ECG device through USB link and provides GUI for display/storage. The Android App was installed on few smartphones from four different manufacturers (Samsung, Google, Vivo & CMF by Nothing) running Android versions 13, 14, & 15 and tested for its functional requirements.
The technology of USB powered Tele ECG machine is being offered on an as-is where-is basis. The technology licensee shall be responsible for its manufacture, device enclosure design, testing with latest smartphones, making changes in Android App, if required, and qualification tests/certification, if desired, before launching the product in market.
