RADIOLOGICAL SERVICES

The Radiology Unit at BARC Hospital has state of art CT scan, MRI, sonography and X-ray daignsotic facilities. Patient can avail all diagnostic facilities as per referrals of treating doctors.

All Ultra Sounds are done both in department as well as bedside, portable sonography, for critically ill and emeregency patients. Department is having 4 Radiologists,3 Residential Medical officers and is sanctioned for two seats of Post Graduate Residential Medical Officers.

Radiogrphy section carries out convetional X-rays of all body parts as per clinician's requirement. Portable X-ray facility is availble for bed ridden patients, incase of trauma and in the OT for intra operative evaluation, especailly for orthopedic and urological procedures.

The state of the art equipments/machines like Digital Radiography, Computerized Radiography, battary operated automatic portable X-ray machines are present in deprtment. Ultrasound is done on high resolution sonography equipment with 3-D and 4-D facilities as per patient evaluation requirements.

The service orders for general radiology and sonography service centre should be ordered with relevant.

    • Abdominal sonography especially hepatopbiliary are seen in the morning in fasting state preferably 6-8 hours except in paediatric and elderly age group who are medically unable to be remain fasting for long duration.
    All other sonography services orders can be requested in non-fasting state. For KUB, prostate and follow-up urolithiasis cases full bladder at the time of examination is mandatory along with the KUB X-ray.
    For peripheral colour Doppler and carotid studies, thyroid, soft tissues, musculo-skeletal, Chest, aspiration, biopsy patients should be sent non fasting state.
