LIBRARY SERVICES

Introduction:

Medical Division library cater to quality information need of Consultant Doctors, Resident Medical Officers (RMO), Nursing staff, Paramedical Staff and Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) student who are posted in BARC hospital for the purpose of clinical practice and research.

Medical Division Library actively supports Continuing Medical Education programs to update the knowledge of medical officers, DNB registered students and nursing staff by providing latest books, current medical journals, electronic information resources and other educational literature which has scope in medical and nursing education.

To automate the process of Library management and better resource accessibility integrated library software LIBSYS (version 4)(Libsys Corporation, Gurgaon) has been implemented recently in year 2009. Circulation service has been automated recently and online public access catalogue has been made open for users. Further facilities to the users will be provided in phases.

Library collections:

It comprises of total 2423 books, 60 journals, 525 bound volumes of journals, 29 electronic journals and two electronic medical databases MD consult and Science Direct.
