The proposed technology deals with development of shelf stable, preservative free natural Jamun product (Jamun strips) prepared from Jamun fruits. Process involves pulping, controlled drying, hygienic packaging and sanitation by gamma radiation treatment. Shelf-life of the product is 5 months under ambient storage conditions which ensures its availability beyond the seasons across domestic & international markets. Uniqueness of this product lies in the fact that it is completely natural, chemical preservative free, easy to chew, retains typical flavor of Jamun fruits and is convenient healthy choice. The developed technology provides a promising solution to the post-harvest losses of Jamun fruits and could provide benefits to all the stakeholders including farmers and entrepreneurs involved in Jamun trade.

  • Raw Materials:
    • All the raw materials required are available in the local market.
  • Space :
    • A room with 750 ft2 area (30’ x 25’)
  • Power Supply :
    • Three phase power connection
  • Manpower :
    • Two persons trained with good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are required for production. Actual manpower would depend on production capacity.

Who Should apply


Interested parties with Engineering & Scientific knowledge, good financial background and adequate experience of products manufacturing & fabrication with technical capability in the area of interested technology and having or interested in setting –up facilities for production would be preferred.

Send your Technology Transfer Application form duly filled and signed alongwith a Demand Draft/Bankers cheque of Rs. 500/- (for Indian entities) or US $50/- (for foreign entities) drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, BARC” as application processing fee on following address:
