Reports : The Reports section of SIRD , previously known as Depository Library, is one of the most comprehensive collection in the country for scientific and technical reports in the field of nuclear science and technology. There are over 5,50,000 reports. A significant number of them are available in microfilm (micro card / microfiche) and some on CD-ROM.
New Reports are purchased through book
acquisition unit. Many are received on exchange and
gratis. Reports are catalogued and assigned
subject descriptor as per the INIS subject headings.
Reports are arranged in cabinets as per Report No.
Microfiche and micro-cards are arranged separately.
Automation : Cataloguing and circulation of the
reports is done through ILM Software. Selected
reports are scanned and stored in form of pdf files on
the servers. These files are then linked with
bibliographic details of reports in ILMS so as to
enable users to search and view full text report online.
