Applications are invited from qualified, experienced and highly committed engineers to shoulder responsibilities for operation of nuclear facilities as per the following requirements immediately.

Name of the Post : Scientific Officer Engineer ‘D’ (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Post)

Number of Vacancies: 25 (Twenty five) approx.

Qualification : M.E/M.Tech with at least 60% marks or B.E./B.Tech (minimum 60% marks) from a recognized university

Disciplines (Code) : Mechanical (01) / Chemical (02) / Electrical (03) / Electronics & Instrumentation (04) & Civil Engineering (5)

Experience : 2 years for M.E/M.Tech & 4 years for B.E./B.Tech in Operation of nuclear/thermal power plant, Chemical Plant, large manufacturing units after obtaining the requisite qualification.

Civil Engineers should have experience in design of buildings and structures.

Place of work : BARC Facilities, Kalpakkam / Mumbai / Mysore / Tarapur.

Nature of work : Selected candidates will get opportunity to take up the responsibility of operating State of the Art facilities including Research Reactors, Nuclear (Plants), Chemical Process Plants, Fuel Fabrication Facilities, Nuclear Waste Management Plants. Design, construction of structures / buildings (for Civil Engineers) etc.

Scale of Pay : Rs. 10000-325-15200
(Total emoluments in the minimum of the pay scale is approximately Rs. 2.65 lakhs per annum at present plus HRA as applicable. Pay and Allowances will be revised upwards, on implementation of the recommendations of the 6th Central Pay Commission).

General Conditions:

1. Candidates will be called for technical interview based on their academic records and experience in the relevant field. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview.

2. Selected candidates, on their appointment will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme.

3. Selected candidates are likely to be posted at BARC Facilities, Kalpakkam / Mumbai / Mysore / Tarapur. They are also liable to be posted to any part of India in any of the constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.

4. The candidates called for interview from outstation for the above post will be paid to and fro rail fare by SECOND CLASS/SLEEPER or actual fare whichever is less. However, Travelling Allowance is not admissible to those who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State Government Corporation, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats and for those who have availed Concession from Railways. Each application should be accompanied by non-refundable crossed Indian Postal Order/DD for Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty only) drawn in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, BARCF payable at Kalpakkam. SC/ST candidates, dependents of defence service personnel killed in action and persons with physical disability are exempted from paying the fee. Persons with physical disability should produce necessary certificate from Govt. Hospital/Medical Board in support of their claim.

How to Apply

1. APPLICAITION, preferably typewritten on thick foolscap paper should be submitted in the proforma given below.
2. The envelope should be superscribed as “Application for the post of SO/D (Discipline) against Advertisement No. 01/2008 (R) 
3. PHOTOGRAPH: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed in the space provided for in the application and one additional copy of the passport size photograph should be sent alongwith the application.
4. ENVELOPE: A self-addressed unstamped envelope (size 24 cm X 10 cm) should be attached to the application.
5. COPIES Of CERTIFICATES: Candidates should submit alongwith their applications attested SINGLE COPY of certificates of:

a. Educational qualifications & technical qualifications (Mark sheets & degree certificate).
b. Work experience.
c. Date of Birth (Matriculation/Secondary Examination certificates or equivalent certificate).

6. Note:
i. Candidates working as regular employees/trainees in Government/ Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertakings / Autonomous organizations or any organizations which is aided by Government should apply through proper channel. In case they anticipate delay in forwarding the applications by their employer, they may submit an advance copy in the prescribed proforma.

7. WARNING: Applications which are not in conformity with the requirements indicated in the advertisement will be rejected. Mere fulfilling requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for being called for interview. In case the response is more, the screening will be restricted to those with higher percentage of marks and with more number of years of experience. No correspondence from the candidate not selected for interview/appointment will be entertained.
