OPTICAL SPECTROMETER

Optical Spectrometer

A spectrometer is an instrument to determine the spectral composition (wavelength & intensity).  The spectrometer developed by BARC is compact, light weight, portable and cost effective. It is based on Diffraction Grating and Linear Array Detector (the Image Sensor). Unlike  conventional  spectrum  analyzers,  there  is  no mechanical  scanning  (through  rotation  of grating) to capture the spectrum. This makes it faster and wear free
.

Optical Spectrometer

This spectrometer admits light through an optical fiber cable.  The output, consists of spectrum information as packets of digital data, is transmitted through an USB port to a PC or Laptop.  In PC,  the  spectrum  is  displayed  in  a graphical  format,  recorded  &  analysed using an User Interface Software. The spectrometers have been developed for 600-1100 nm & 700-900 nm wavelength ranges.  The spectrometers can be configured for other ranges & applications also.
