Overview

D/H Mass Spectrometer, an import substitute, is versatile analytical instrument. It is used for the measurement of D/H (Deuterium/Hydrogen) ratio in water and hydrogen sample on routine basis. It is a compact, reliable & sensitive analytical tool. It finds applications in Heavy Water plant, in Isotope hydrology etc. It consists of sample inlet system, electron impact ion source, analyzer and faraday cup collectors. Sample inlet consists of online reduction system for liquidsamples & an inlet system for gas samples. PC based interface is provided for instrument control & sample analysis.

D/H Mass Spectrometer, an import substitute, is a very versatile analytical instrument. It is used for the measurement of D/H (Deuterium/ Hydrogen) ratio in water and hydrogen samples. It consists of sample inlet system, electron impact ion source, analyzer and faraday cup collectors. Two independent collector assemblies have been incorporated to collect H₂+ and HD+ ions. It operates around a base pressure of 10-8 Torr. PC based interface is provided for instrument control & sample analysis.

Detail Technical Brochure

The D/H Mass Spectrometer is a versatile analytical instrument. It is used for routine measurement of D/H (Deuterium/ Hydrogen) ratio in water and hydrogen sample. It consists of sample inlet system, electron impact ion source, analyzer and faraday cup collectors. The sample inlet system consists of online reduction system for water samples & an inlet system for gas samples. The electron impact ion source is designed to have high sensitivity and low H₃+ formation. The mass analyzer has a radius of 6 cm with deflection angle of 60°. Two independent collector assemblies have been incorporated to collect H₂+ and HD+ ions. It operates around a base pressure of 10-8 Torr. The vacuum system of it consists of rotary pump, turbo molecular pump and ion pump to achieve the vacuum of 10-8 Torr. PC based interface is provided for instrument control & sample analysis.

 

APPLICATIONS

  • It is used as quality assurance tool in Heavy Water Plants (by the measurement of deuterium enrichment) also in research & development in Heavy Water and Catalyst.
  • It is also used in isotope hydrology for studying and interpreting the natural isotope variation in D/H in various natural waters.

Raw Material

  • Most of the components are available within the country and some components need to be imported through local agents.

Manpower

  • One graduate in science, one electronics engineer, two trained technicians will be required for manufacture/production of this instrument.

 

Who Should apply


Interested parties with Engineering & Scientific knowledge, good financial background and adequate experience of products manufacturing & fabrication with technical capability in the area of interested technology and having or interested in setting –up facilities for production would be preferred.
