7th Conference on Neutron Scattering (Hybrid Mode)

November 25-27, 2021 at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai

Organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in association with Neutron Scattering Society of India

Neutron scattering is an indispensable tool for probing structure and dynamics in condensed matter, encompassing a wide multidisciplinary research spectrum. The high penetrating power, simultaneous sensing capabilities of both light and heavy atoms, isotope sensitivity, comparable wavelength/energy to the atomic length scale/basic excitations in materials, capability of measuring atomic magnetic moment etc. have made thermal neutron a unique probe for characterization of materials. The current neutron scattering activity in the country is centred around the indigenously built Dhruva research reactor, at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, under the National Facility for Neutron Beam Research (NFNBR) program.

We cordially invite you to attend the 7th Conference on Neutron Scattering (CNS-2021), being organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in association with Neutron Scattering Society of India (NSSI) at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai during November 25-27, 2021. The Conference on Neutron Scattering is a recurring event, organized by Solid State Physics Division, BARC in a period of 2-3 years. Aim of this conference is to discuss the recent advances in condensed matter physics research using neutron scattering and current developments on neutron instruments and facilities.

It is a great pleasure to welcome scientists working in the area of Neutron Scattering from all over the world to share their scientific results, experiences and achievements in the field. We also invite young researchers and students to present their results. The conference will cover neutron scattering studies in advanced magnetism, structure and dynamics, soft matter, nanostructured materials and thin films. The conference comprises invited talks and short presentations.

Abstract

Participants are requested to send their abstract by email (cns2021@barc.gov.in) before October 15, 2021. Abstracts should be prepared in MS-WORD in single column in A4 size with page margins of 25 mm all around and typed using Times New Roman font with single line spacing. The length of the abstract is limited to one page including figures and tables. Oral presentations will be selected from the submitted abstracts.

There will be no poster session due to hybrid mode of the conference; however, all the participants submitting the abstracts can register to attend the conference. The e-mail addresses of the presenting author should be provided. The abstract will be published in the Abstract booklet. Please mention in your e-mail one or more conference themes listed above in which your work should be presented.

Registration

Registration is mandatory for all the participants. There is no registration fee.

Conference venue

CNS-2021 is sponsered by Neutron Scattering Society of India

National Facility for Neutron Beam Research

...

National Facility for Neutron Beam Research (NFNBR) is operated by Solid State Physics Division (SSPD), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, for the use of neutrons in condensed matter research. NFNBR has been built around the research reactor Dhruva. This facility is being extensively used by several groups of BARC and researchers from various universities/institutions.

Neutron Scattering Society of India

Neutron Scattering Society of India (NSSI) was formed on 11th June 2008 during a meeting of neutron users at Mumbai with an objective to promote the research and development activities of neutron-scattering science and applications. Another aim to form NSSI was to represent the neutron users in the Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Association (AONSA), which is an affiliation of neutron scattering societies. Participants are encouraged to register for NSSI-membership to connect the neutron scattering activities in India and Asia-Oceania regions
