Neutron scattering is an indispensable tool for probing structure and dynamics in
condensed matter,
encompassing a wide multidisciplinary research spectrum. The high penetrating power,
simultaneous sensing
capabilities of both light and heavy atoms, isotope sensitivity, comparable
wavelength/energy to the atomic
length scale/basic excitations in materials, capability of measuring atomic magnetic
moment etc. have made
thermal neutron a unique probe for characterization of materials. The current neutron
scattering activity in
the country is centred around the indigenously built Dhruva research reactor, at Bhabha
Atomic Research Centre,
Trombay, under the National Facility for Neutron Beam Research (NFNBR) program.
We cordially invite you to attend the 7th Conference on Neutron Scattering (CNS-2021),
being organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in association with Neutron
Scattering
Society of India (NSSI) at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai during November 25-27, 2021. The
Conference on Neutron Scattering is a recurring event, organized by Solid State Physics
Division, BARC in a period of 2-3 years. Aim of this conference is to discuss the recent
advances in condensed matter physics research using neutron scattering and current
developments on neutron instruments and facilities.
It is a great pleasure to welcome scientists working in the area of Neutron Scattering
from all over the world to share their scientific results, experiences and achievements
in the field. We also invite young researchers and students to present their results.
The conference will cover neutron scattering studies in advanced magnetism, structure
and
dynamics, soft matter, nanostructured materials and thin films. The conference
comprises invited talks and short presentations.
