A DAE-BRNS sponsored Two-Day Theme Meeting on “Strategic Planning for Enhancing Research Reactor Utilization (RRU-2022)” will be organized jointly by Reactor Group and Radiochemistry & Isotope Group, BARC in association with UGC-DAE CSR, Mumbai Centre and Society for Positron Annihilation and Nuclear Probes (SPAN) C/o. RCD, BARC to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav during May 6-7, 2022 at DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094. BARC has state of art research reactor facilities at Dhruva and Apsara-U for radioisotope production as well as various R&D works. There is a need as well as scope to enhance the utilization of neutrons from research reactors by various R&D communities and users from various organizations for materials characterization, nuclear reaction & fission, health care and various societal applications. The main objective of this Theme Meeting is aimed at interaction with the potential users of research reactors at BARC, other units of DAE as well as non-DAE government and private organizations including industries, research and academic institutes and Institutes/Universities that are pursuing projects under BRNS, UGC-DAE CSR , CSIR and other schemes.

The technical program will consist of keynote/invited talks by experts and users as well as poster presentations of contributed abstracts on facilities and users’ requirements and a panel discussion for strategic planning in order to enhance the research reactor utilization as per the scope of RRU-2022.
One page abstract for invited talks as well as poster presentations are invited on the above topics as per the scope and should be submitted by March 25, 2022 through email. The abstract/poster templates and guidelines can be downloaded from the website.
There is “NO” registration fee for Participation in RRU-2022. The Theme Meeting is intended for scientists, engineers, academicians, doctors and research scholars from DAE and non-DAE organization including Academic Institutes / Universities, Hospitals and Industries working in the fields like reactor physics & technology, radioisotope production & applications, neutron scattering, neutron imaging, detector testing, neutron activation analysis & nuclear reactions and fission. A limited travel grant will be available for participants from academic institutes. Accommodation will be arranged for outstation participants in BARC Guest House at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai on request and payment basis. Details can be found in the website. Proper COVID protocols will be followed as per the DAE guidelines. If necessary, meeting will be held in Hybrid Mode (Physical/On-line).
